Hi, I'm Gwyn. I've spent the last 20 years working in DevOps and Linux infrastructure, from classic data center deployments to large-scale cloud architectures, and everything in between.

Infrastructure Design and Development

I help small businesses by designing and building reliable, well-documented infrastructure. This can be cloud infrastructure, classic data centre infrastructure, or a linux box sitting in a closet. I have designed and deployed hundreds of deployments targetting Kubernetes, and can design and implement the entire software build and deployment lifecycle using your Continuous Integration server and version control tooling. And if you need someone to set up a build server for your teams first, I can do that too.

I do have opinions about gitops workflows with a strong focus on state management being the best solution to infrastructure drift and instability, but I also understand that sometimes you just need your systems to start working so you can keep building your business. Teaching and Mentorship

I also work with individuals who want a to learn with a teacher. One on one mentorship, focused on your needs, helps you to learn more quickly. I have 20 years of experience writing command line utilities, shell scripts, and understanding of how linux works under the hood. I teach maintainable shell scripting and testing techniques, and writing more complex software in Go.

I have taught dozens of engineers how to write and test Infrastructure as Code, helping them move from knowing nothing about this approach to having a deployed virtual machine in a couple of hours. I have thousands of hours of experience with cloud providers like AWS, DigitalOcean, or Azure, and teach infrastructure development and design.
